3 Beach Team-Building Activities.
"3 Beach Team-Building Activities."
Team building activities A beach scavenger hunt is a fun and relaxing way to encourage team members to work together.
As a manager, you understand the importance of a strong, cohesive team. Engaged teams who communicate well are more productive, which directly impacts the bottom line.
On your team building beach retreat at the Sea Oats Captiva Estate, you can offer your team a great getaway, as well as productive team building. While the inside is lovely, get outsideand enjoy the creative aspect of the sea! Here are 3 beach team building activities:
#1: Beach scavenger hunt. One person needs to be the captain, and divide up teams. The game leader will create a list of 10-15 items that each team must find to win the game. They can be items the team leader hides on the beach (a picture of the manager posted on the side of a dock, for example) or items that occur naturally in a beach environment (a white seashell, or a picture of one team member wave jumping, or a photo in someone in a red swimsuit are some ideas that come to mind).
Set a time limit, and whichever team returns with the most its, wins!
#2: Sand maze. Set another game leader, and have them set up a ‘maze’ on the beach. Bottles or jars of sand work well for this challenge. Pair up teams of 2. One person will be blindfolded and will navigate the maze led by his partner’s verbal instructions. The entire group should meet at the end of the game to discuss what parts worked successfully and which could use improvement.
#3: Balloon juggle. Split the players into teams of 3, give each group 9 balloons, and challenge them to keep them all in the air. Make it harder and harder, shouting out instruction: “Hand behind backs- now!” For example. Take turns, and each time a balloon touches the ground, call out a number, starting with “One”. When the tally reaches six, click the stopwatch and see how long the team lasted. Then the other team has six ‘strikes’ to go before time is called. The team with the best score wins a prize.
*We hope you enjoy your time on the beautiful sands at Sea Oats Captiva. We request-on behalf of the delicate area wildlife- that you kindly remember to collect all materials that are utilized during the team building exercises. Our feathered friends will be most grateful!*
Taking your team to Captiva Island for a retreat is a great choice in terms of location and amenities, and afternoons spent outside team building will serve the group well. When they get back into the office, they will be recharged and ready to produce more effectively than ever!
