It is an understatement to simply say we enjoyed our stay at Sea Oats. We absolutely loved it! We were wondering if it could live up to our expectations. It exceeded them! There were 11 of us from ages 15 to 84. Everyone loved it! There was something for every age. We loved the beautiful, spacious house. It was so nice to be together for meals, etc. but each do our own activity –be it swimming in the fantastic pool, ,tennis, ping pong, the beach, kayaking, paddle boarding, or simply relaxing with a book while enjoying the beautiful weather. We very much enjoyed the sunset cruise, and the delicious meals from Paper Fig Catering. The gourmet kitchen was a delight to prepare daily meals in. The only recommendation I would have is a minor one. My son recommended hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels and robes. Many thanks to Vicki and Michelle for all the amazing help. It was a phenomenal vacation, one we will relive and remember for a lifetime!

This property was a dream. Michelle made the process super easy and the property exceeded the listing. The home was spacious enough to vacation with family without all of us being on top of each other. The beach is as close to private as one can get.. I only saw the neighbors 2x’s on the beach and they were walking by.. Ultra private, clean and spacious.

Private paradise on the beach
We stayed with our extended family, a group of 17, and couldn’t have enjoyed this home more. Most wonderful was the private beach, with hardly a soul for a mile either direction. When it was time to cool off, the climate-controlled pool was large and inviting. We never fully utilized all the spacious living areas, and the bedrooms were wonderful. A great night’s sleep every night on the mattresses, and luxury at every turn. We used the huge kitchen daily for family meals, and the appliances were all top notch. The team was easy to reach by phone or text, and made sure our every need was met throughout the week. Highly recommend!

A SPECIAL GETAWAY ON THE GULF – A FAMILY TRIP TO REMEMBER
“I loved Sea Oats and the beautiful pool where I could swim all day with my cousins.” our 4 1/2 year old great granddaughter”. It has been a tradition in our family for all of our kids, grandkids, great grandchildren, spouses and significant others to vacation together at least once each year. Finding the right place presents an annual problem for us, not only because of the sheer number of us (27), but because of the diversity of age of four generations (from age 1 up to 83). But this past December we hit the jackpot! We stayed at the palatial and luxurious Sea Oats in Captiva, a glorious “home” a stone’s throw from the Gulf of Mexico to the front, and a serene channel to the rear. Not only were the home and the ambiance remarkable, but the items available for us could not have been better thought out — fishing gear, kayaks, a bar, TVs, a media room, enough kitchen supplies and refrigerators to feed an army, and a golf cart for tooling around. The very large, heated swimming pool, surrounded with comfortable lounges, tables and chairs, was the hub of most of our activities, although our granddaughter gave her Yoga lessons to all of us either on the Gulf beach or on the home’s fishing boat dock. Magnificent sunsets and wine was a nightly ritual at the Gulf Beach. A tennis/basketball court with all the equipment was in a beautiful setting for use of any of family who wanted a good exercise. Everything worked, everything was spotlessly clean, and everything was up to date. We would be remiss not to mention Vicki, the on-sight property manager, who showed us everything, explained everything, and kept everything in order. Her constant smile and good nature, she was always there to help. The owner was so helpful in the planning of our trip. Any reasonable request was honored. Every one of us loved Sea Oats, and we’re already talking about a return trip.

Sea Oats could not have been more perfect for our family celebration Thanksgiving week! From our 90 year old parents to their 9 week old great grandson, everyone found their happy place within this amazing property. Siblings grabbed morning walks along the beach on the gulf side, Cousins played pickleball together, went kayaking along the bayside with dolphins swimming beside them, while the littlest great grandchildren spent hours shelling and swimming. Each night we caught sunsets at the beach and with the help of the oversized golf cart and plenty of beach chairs, even our 90 year old parents were able to get over to the gulf to enjoy the sunset and a swim! After dinner we all sat around the firepit while the kids made s’mores and we got caught up on all that we might have missed that year living hundreds of miles apart. Late night movies in the media room ensued for the cousins long after the rest of us had hit the sack! Michelle gave us great leads on catering, cruises, and exactly what we could expect for room layouts, kitchen space, etc. One of our most memorable nights was the sunset cruise we took with Captiva Cruises, who picked our entire group of 30 up at our private dock, making it so easy to get our parents on board and settled in for an amazing 2 hour sunset cruise and dolphin sighting! We had our entire week of meals- including Thanksgiving dinner- catered by Paper Fig Kitchen, another of Michelle’s suggestions that was perfect for our group. We spent a couple hours on the phone with Deb the week before we arrived, and every meal was absolutely perfect! Each day dinner arrived w heating instructions, along with breakfast casseroles and lunch for the following day…a true blessing when you are trying to feed 30 individuals with a few different dietary requirements! We finished the week w a quick family photo session under the Banyon tree, which will help keep the memories alive for many years to come! Though i think we might have to return again and make Sea Oats a family tradition!

Wonderful Week!
Our company spent a week at the Sea Oats in October and we had a fantastic experience. The house is massive, fully stocked and impeccably decorated. It’s the perfect company retreat location; the house and grounds gave us all plenty of room to spread out, while also providing a space that allowed us to congregate comfortably whenever we needed to. We held all of our meetings in the beautiful living room or on the back patio, and we spent most of our evenings hanging out in the cozy den or playing tennis and basketball on the private court. Our employees particularly loved the dock behind the house and the access to great fishing and nature watching. Most of them had never seen a dolphin in the wild before! Thank you Christine and everyone at the Sea Oats for making our stay so enjoyable! We hope to come back next year!

Fantastic holiday home. 20 family enjoyed every minute of our weeks stay. Best part for me was to see dolphins swimming by at the end of the garden! Very helpful manageress – Christine – arranged our shopping and helped with finding shops, attractions etc. Thanks for making our holiday memorable, we would love to return some day soon.

I am rarely inclined to write a review but this property warrants it! Sea Oats is a part of Paradise. Our family visit included children and adults and the wonderful amenities available during our stay were excellent. We did not have to leave the property to enjoy tennis, swimming, fishing, and Gourmet meals. The grounds and the home are beautifully maintained and decorated. The bedrooms are private and the large bathrooms with sunken tubs are wonderful. We look forward to returning to Sea Oates and highly recommend it.

Great Annual Family Reunion for 25
I have sponsored 11 consecutive reunions for my family on Captiva Island. We are a group of about 25 and we always want to be together in one big house for a week, rather than spread across multiple locations. Having sampled several different large rental homes on the island over the years, I can say without any doubt than our family strongly prefers staying at Sea Oats. The suites are spacious, airy, and generously proportioned. The house, grounds, and pool are always well maintained. The owners are responsive to the needs of guests. Our party ranges in age from 12 years old to 85. Each member of the party is able to find so many different things to do to entertain themselves, from using the pool, the private ocean beach, to kayaking on the Roosevelt Channel, to playing tennis, to dance contests on the Nintendo Wii in the game room, watching movies, and eating banquets. The kitchen is well laid out and can accommodate cooking and serving a meal to 25 guests. We intend to continue coming back to Sea Oats every year. It is a terrific home on an unspoiled and beautiful island.
